Hi,
It all depends what you are trying to do with Oracle workflow. I
used Oracle workflow long back with Oracle Interoffice. We used it to
design/create a business process and the graphical interface is very
good. We stopped using it because Oracle discontinued Oracle
Interoffice product. If you want to integrate your mail system with
workflow it totally up to you. If you are using Oracle mail I dont see
any problem using Oracle Workflow with Oracle mail.
In Oracle Workflow you define your process and each stage in the
process is nothing but a PL/SQL program which may take an "in"
parameter and spits out a "out" parameter. Once you finish designing
the business process and you create this on the database it not thing
but a PL/SQL package with lot of procedures and functions.
Oracle Workflow can be used stanalone and it does not need OAS or
Web DB. Although you need to install PL/SQL toolkit and OWF objects.
Coming to your questions whether Oracle Workflow can be used with
mail, the answer is it depends what you are trying to do.
