Make sure you have SQL under your belt before anything. All of Oracle
is based on it!!!

Try Ben Forta's book Teach yourself sql in 10 minutes. Then once you
have this understood, move on to Oracle 8x a beginners guide. It has
all the info you need to start using Oracle in a competent way.
