The tutorial is worthless.  The online documentation is good but awkward to
read and badly indexed.  There are two Oracle press books, neither as up to
date as 6i, but both are still useful.  There is so much to Designer you may
want to start with core functionality, the CASE tool, then add more to it as
you learn more - process modeling, dataflows, forms, reports, web pages etc.
Pick a small, very small project, and try to get it to work.
