Download a copy of RevealNet's "PL/SQL Knowledge Base" from
http://www.revealnet.com. You will get very good information about all of
Oracle's built-in packages, with examples.

Also take a look at PL/Vision, the first 3rd party code library of PL/SQL
packages.
The p.l package in PL/Vision saves you from directly accessing DBMS_OUTPUT.
