Hi,

We currently are using Oracle RAC 10GR2 and ASM on AIX 5.3.3 LPAR's. In
near future we plan to start using Virtual I/O (VIO) on our p-Series
570 LPAR footprints.

Since ASM overwrites the first block of the disk with database
information, the disk does not have any PVID information anymore, and
it is difficult to recognise them on AIX level.

Question:
Does anbody have experience with providing disk storage through a
Virtual I/O server to ASM ?.
Can Virtual I/O server handle disks without PVID ?

Any clues are very much appreciated.

Erik
