Hello,

It is true that Oracle 10g is very advanced and can help an Oracle DBA
more than earlier versions. There are some sales verbiage being
propagated that suggests that 10g is so advanced that it will replace
the need for Oracle DBAs or in an environment with mulitple DBA's you
can fire some seasoned DBA's as they will not be needed. As an OCP I
have my opinion but I am asking for your non-sales technical opinion
here.

QUESTION:
In a growing enterprise environment with multiple database servers
running complex and large databases (some VLDB) is Oracle 10g so
advanced that an organization should consider firing DBA's?

Thanks,

Michael42
