i renamed the datafile without removing it.



for example it was in :


D:\ORACLE\ORADATA\ONLDB1\ONLINE02-02.ORA


and i renamed it to



D:\ORACLE\ORADATA\ONLDB1\ONLINE02_02.DBF


in the same directory.



Of course when i did this i put offline the affected tablespace,
renamed the file, altered the tablespace and brought it back online
