Just a wild guess that your software may not be patched appropriately.
9.2.0.1 is missing a whole bunch of oracle patchsets.

It may have been fixed a long time ago by oracle software maintenance
but if you don't run the patched version ... you don't get possible
fixes.

Check with your dba and see if your system's are appropriately patched.
 If you get a reproducible problem work with oracle support.
