Thanks for replying. I know that I should get more memory, but given that this is an old, used machine, and because this is probably a one-shot deal, I'm having a hard time justifying putting more money into it (the machine). I was just hoping that if I could maybe reduce the SGA memory requirements, I could "stretch" things a bit, since Oracle performance isn't an issue for my installation testing purposes. The main thing I'm concerned about if I try this is causing problems (e.g., ORA-... errors).

I've already killed off all of the Solaris processes that appear to be unnecessary.
