Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> OID 1st time install issues
With names servers being phased out soon I decided to install OID on a
9iR2 test box to get ready for the inevitable switch-over, so I
installed the software and went thru the doc's for install but I am
still having issues.
What I have:
Oracle 9.2.0.6 on windows 2000
What I have done so far:
Installed OID software into existing 9i home
Installed database "oiddb" using dbca (used oid template and running catpatch afterwards)
Run OIDCA and choose "configuration of a database" and enter in the sid etc. of newly created database, which then waits a ferw minutes and then gets to OID server details, accept the defaults and continue, which then waits a few more minutes and quits with "could not contact oid server" error
So then I try:
Start OIDMON with connect=oiddb start
Try to run OIDCTRL with oidctl connect=oiddb server=oidldapd instance=1 configset=1 start but it tells me the instance is allready running.
Start up Oracle Directory Manager and try to connect - get message that server is not up & running.
I obviously missed a step somewhere, but I cant find it in any of the doc's I am looking at.
