Yes, you can do a startup mount if the database datafiles are in a different location, i.e., they have a different name than what is recorded in the control file because you used a pfile= parameter which pointed to an init.ora which contains a parameter that tells Oracle where to find the control files. The startup mount only starts the instance (Oracle database background processes, allocates the SGA) and opens only the control files.

>From a mounted instance you can issue ALTER DATABASE commands to rename
the datafiles, that is, to point to the new locations. Once this is done you can open the database.
