human readers doesn't get you a job, as they require experience. Very
direct experience, experience with other apps that have the same
functionality doesn't count. There doesn't seem to be anyone that
would even let you work for free on this stuff.
Where the people that are currently doing it got the experience I couldn't say. Well, I know some fell into it during a conversion, and some came from Oracle corp jobs. If anyone knows anyone who actually got into apps technical dba work on spec (that is, by taking classes then making a transition to it), speak up. From the classes I've wandered into, it doesn't seem to be a technically difficult transition, just HR-difficult.
