Is it possible to change dbname?

I used dbca to create database creation scripts (oraclr 10.1.0.2) and for some reasons I ended up with:

oracle_sid=adcdm01
db_dbname=adcinfo (hostname is adcinfops01) db_unique_name=adcdm01

I want all to be the same name as the oracle sid. Is this possible?

What exactly is the difference between the oracle sid and the dbname? (I notice db_name is normally a fully qualified domain name)

Thx,
