Any information you receive will be generic and as likely degrade performance and improve it. Choosing a correct storage strategy is not just applying some simple formulation though SAME works for most situations.
For example, RAID5 work just fine if you are on an array with dual XOR engines. It does not work well if on an array with only a single XOR engine. Blanket statements, those made without qualification, are valueless or dangerous.
