Rule 1 when asking for help ... provide sufficient information for someone to help you.

1. Oracle version and edition
2. Hardware platform and operating system
3. Actual full and complete error message
4. Specifically what you did that caused the problem.

We don't know, for example whether you have Oracle 8 on an unsupported platform and tried to log in with your dog's name.
