Maybe you are right and this is a SUSE issue.
Normally I've seen the opposit: suse less buggy then redhat but for 
x86-64 things could be different.

I have never tested redhat for AMD64 so I won't draw conclusions.

Since Oracle certified the platform, after the usual sanity check, I 
would expect less bugs and reported issues.

And the lack of pach and patchset porting for x86-64 are not encouraging.

This is the reason I (and this is a personal opinion) do not consider 
RAC + x86-64 + Linux (suse in particul) ready for production.
