Hello !


First of all - ports below and equal to 1024 on Unix are reserved for 
processes with user id root, so running for example OID on its default 
ports (389,636 for LDAP) requires a special procedure. If Your setup has 
not a special requirements it would be easier to choose ports above 
1024... Few months ago i installed OID on just Solaris9 (SPARC) and had 
no problems ...
