As I implied in my Method 3 above, I think referring someone to the proper
manual is a good compromise with providing the answer for them (that would
have been obvious if the poster had made a good faith attempt to find out
the answer themselves) and simply saying RTFM (or something similar). If you
find Method 3 not appropriate to your personality, then don't use it.
