Sorry but I am not a believer in "forget about changing the code". Code changes are always possible, even if you have to work through a 3rd party provider.

In my experience, if you can show how processing will be improved, how your specific customer will be happier, and other customers will benefit, most vendors will change almost anything ( eventually ).

Sure maybe you have to make some temporary compromises to improve processing time now. That's only the first step.

Giving up and not following through to make sure other necessary improvements are made ( at least for me ) is not an option.
