Restoring from an old cold backup

Most of the examples of doing a database restore start off from a full cold or
hot backup and then continue on with the archive logs and redo logs.

What if I happen to loose a full backup, but I still have an older full backup?
Can I still recover to the point of my last archive log?

Assumine a senario like this:

    Cold_20050501

    ArhiveLog_100
    ArhiveLog_101
    ArhiveLog_102

...

    ArhiveLog_150
Cold_20050508 <- Corrupt or non-existant after the crash     ArhiveLog_151 (yes I know they should be backed up somewhere else, etc.

ArhiveLog_152 humour me with this thought experiement)
...

    ArhiveLog_169
    *crash*

Could I restore Cold_20050501 and then apply the ArchiveLog_100 through ArchiveLog_169, or the somehow tied to Cold_20050508?
