I totally agree with the KISS. I do not agree that a 4 (or 64) CPU backplane fits in the definition of KISS.

But it's all experience and perspective ... Having been around Oracle technology since 1984, I do understand a bit about it's operation and do find RAC easier, and simpler, and more reliable, than a hardware solution. (Note that I am an electrical engineer by training).

So you and I will stand here and argue the opposite sides of this problem forever - and use exactly the same agruments to bolster our viewpoint. The only way to counter that is to test and benchmark.
