| Hi ,
|
| Thank You For Ur Reply...
| But Can U Give Me Autentication Of This In The Oracle 9i Documentation.
|
| My Basic Logic Say So , DBWR Does The Writting Of The Data From The
| Cache To The Datafile. And UnDo Is Also An Datafile...But A Senior Dba
| Says Its The Server Process That Does The Writes In The Undo Datafile.
|
| Its An Senior Dba Word..So I Am Wondering. How Can I Give An
| Explanation Of Dbwr Doing Writing ..And Not Server Process.
|
For Oracle there is no difference between rollback segment blocks and table or index segment blocks, there are both data and handle in the same way. Ask your senior DBA to point to one doc saying undo blocks are writing by server process.
Chapter 8 "Process Architecture" of Database Concepts,
section "Background Processes"/"Database Writer Process (DBWn)"
tells how DBW works:
file:///D:/Oracle/ora92/doc/server.920/a96524/c09procs.htm#6162
