I recently tried re-installing Oracle 9i on my Slackware box after I had upgraded from Slackware 9.0. The installation wasn't happy with the (newer) version of glibc it was finding. Rather than try to install an old version of glibc, I just switched to Oracle 10g and things went much more smoothly. I am currently running Slackware 10.0.
