Thanks for the advance.
I will run some query to check out
"excessive misses", "spin_gets",
and sleeps in V$latch this morning when I go to work.

This particular database on this host has a lot of spike CPU usage when the application(in-house-application build on oracle db) run. Not all day long, the spike only happen in certain time period during the day.
Basically, the machine is very heavy loaded. Only one instance running, but this in-house application serve a pretty fast OLTP (it is half OLTP , and half batch processing) website.

P.S. I am trying to understand this database, since I am the new DBA there.
