Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> automatic startup on solaris
Hi,
I have Oracle 10g installed on Solaris 10(Intel) but my startup script -
dbora no longer seems to work.
I am using the exact same file that I use on my other machine which has
Oracle 8.1.7 on Solaris 9, - and linked the same way.
On this machine it works fine -
the database and listeners start up when the machine does (and stop).
But on my new machine the script does not appear to run at all, it is
loacted in the same place (/ect/init.d) with the same chmod.
Can anyone please help with how to automatically startup and shut down
Oracle on this setup?
Oracle's docs seem made for Solaris 9, it appears Solaris 10 manages these
files diferently.
I am getting tired of entering the 'dbshut' and 'lsnrct start' commands,
and waiting.
any help appreciated
regards
Ian
