Re: exporting from Unix 8 and importing to linux 9 generates IMP-00009: abnormal end of export error

You might try doing a tail on the file and see if the last two lines say:
EXIT
EXIT And of course, I'm sure you looked at the log of the export? (and of course, the stuff David said).

Finally, there were one or more issues of export being broken towards the tail end of 817, be sure you know exactly which patches have been applied.
