Table or queries returning large number of columns... for arguments sake lets say 50 columns, and you want to select 48 of them... makes sense to select * and exclude the two you don't want.

Another way... if you have "N" columns and the number of columns desired is greater than N/2, it's less work to specify which columns you don't want, especially the closer you get to N. Received on Wed Feb 23 2005 - 19:07:00 CST
