Read-only tablespaces and the undo log

Quick question here:

If I perform a select from a table that resides in a read-only tablespace, will the undo log (or rollback segment in earlier versions) be used to ensure read-consistency. (I would suspect not, as the read should always be consistent from a read-only tablespace, but want to be sure.)
