Sorry: I should have said, you won't even be able to mount the database, of course, until you've (a) created the service as I mentioned last time, and (b) edited the contents of the init.ora or the spfile so that the CONTROL_FILES parameter is set to point to the new location of the control file (can't remember if I mentioned that last time or not).
