Most of v$ views give DBAs the information about the Oracle instance to analyze or fix a performance problem. In most situations, they are only useful for DBAs. However, sometimes in a DEV env. non DBA users with some experience may need to retrieve some v$ information to tune their SQLs or have a look at the system activities.
