Re: 10g CSS Daemon - start/stop ?

You don`t need to run CSS Service, it is for RAC.

1. ASM is running as an Oracle Instance. If no instance is running on your machine then there is no ASM.

2)run this as ROOT:
  /etc/init.d/init.cssd stop
