They're vague and inconsistent so they likely my fault. First install with 256mb ram and win2k-serv the db install froze on last step of creating default (orcl) instance, though it seemed to be ok. Added another 256mb for total of 512. Definately better (I knew going in that 256 was minimal with 512 suggested, but money's tight). Could not run database configuration to create a new database. Received a drive not found at "\dev/HDD1" error (don't have exact text). Reformatted and reinstalled Win2k-Serv. Install was fine but could not use Enterprise Concole to start/close and instance (options were grayed out). Tried datatbase config to create a new database again and receive a different error "File I/O error".

As I say, I'm not ruling out wetware ;o), or my novice attempts at 10g (experienced with 8.1.7), but just wanted to clear the air in case there's hardware conflicts with Oracle.
