Thanks for the reply guys. Sorry if it had been mentioned before, I havn't been able to find anything that matches that combination; The instant client doesn't work either (in case you were wondering) - it said this version is no longer supported; I have contacted the software vendor (as this sco / oracle) combination is from a company that we have recently took over, and due to the complexity of the software, we don't have the budget or the resources to rewrite the app, so we need to get the data into one area. I will explore the option of the Oracle 8 personal edition, linked to the 7.3.3 and then have the 9i linked to the Oracle 8. The performance shouldn't be an issue given that I am not using the data live, I will d/l @ a certain time every day.
