However, using *nix tools permits checking some windows-related information. In this case, as adequately documented in other replies, uwin and cygwin 'ps' command supports checking for oracle.exe. That can be used to write a marker to the supervisor.
My somewhat sarcastic question was intended to highlight that the 'ps' command is not natively found on the same machine as the 'oradim' command.
