Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> just an information for hitstory about ociw32.dll
Hi,
I have been working an entire afternoon in order to install php on my
brand new apache server coming with oracle9i. I had the scott
stephen's article to help me
(http://www.zdnet.fr/builder/architecture/base_de_donnees/0,39020907,39157350,00.htm
). But each time I tried to launch the server I got a dll
initialisation error about ociw32.dll wich didn't want to be launched.
So I checked around the web to get informations, but I didn't found
anything.
I finnaly discovered that my ociw32.dll was 8 year old, cause there
was already an oracle db on the pc I was lended. So I just had to
overwrite this old dll wich was on the winnt\system32 dir by the new
one wich come with the oracle distribution on oracle\bin directory.
Once I copied the dll the init error message disappeared. But I
couldn't even have a <?php echo"hello xorld";?> working. But there was
a newby's error : I forgot to put the http:\\server_name:port url
before to use the script...
Well, with the hope that it won't be useful for anyone, (just you won't have this problem) and the pleasure to help someone if you needed these informations I wrote here.
Regards.
JR.
