Not likely. Oracle also can't properly live together with NIS. The
reason for this is quite obvious: all files on Unix have an owner and
a group identification. You see this in the form of text. What is
stored, however, is the UID of the user Oracle, and the GID of the dba
group. On Nis, if the UID of Oracle differs from the local UID, you
are in big trouble.
Also please consider: do you think Oracle can actually run when the
LDAP server isn't available? The idea of wanting to install Oracle
without a local account just doesn't make sense (and also it is not
described in the installation manuals)
