Fair enough. Perhaps the fact that issues were addressed in this newsgroup (and presumably endorsed by several readers - I haven't been very active recently) created greater visibility with the Metalink group at Oracle. I was, after
all, just a lonely field support person trying to make a difference. It just got

frustrating to repeatedly tell my customers "Yes, I've written them with your and my concerns,
but I'm not expecting a response. Let's talk about ways to work around these issues, okay?"

Now that I've been using Metalink and OSS as a paying customer instead of as an employee, I must say that I'm generally pleased. The analysts I've talked to are generally well-informed but sometimes too pushy to reduce the number of open TARs to an unnaturally low level. I've never been happy with the often severely outdated and poorly written technical notes, and I'd love to see that addressed sometime. But we'll see, won't we?
