It isn't luck when he tells you in his original post that he created a brand new database using dbca as a possible recovery mechanism, but is now awaiting further advice. It was quite evident from what he wrote that the new database *wasn't* being "used by other users".
The difference between us, in at least this one respect, is that I try and read what the actual poster wrote, and tailor my advice accordingly. You just post tripe, with nary a thought to what help the poster actually needs.

Strangely enough, why don't you ask Joe whether my advice was 'hugely reckless'. What you won't admit, apparently because it will choke you to do so, is that my wildly reckless advice actually helped him sort his problem out.
