Right, well, as far as I can tell, this is a feature of installing onto RH9, which you'll remember isn't a supported platform. I can't guarantee that, because I'm not a Linux whizz. It could be something simple such as permissions somewhere along the line. But when I install onto AdvSrv 2.1, the preferred credentials are stored correctly. When I install onto RH8 or 9, they are not. And apart from the obviously-different install steps between the two sorts of platform, the installs (directories, permissions, environment variables etc ) are identical.

So I could be wrong, but I think you just have to live with this.

I'm sure truly knowledgable Linux types will be able to add more info, however.
