Upgrade to something supported by Oracle within the last 10 years? I know every reason to stay with what is working but ...

  1. You are spending money right this second trying to solve a problem that could be better spent on 9.2.0.4 and/or 10g.
  2. You can't upgrade your hardware or operating system without being incompatible with the database.
  3. Your resume won't get you a job flipping burgers. No one wants to hire someone that is an Oracle 7.3 expert.

I'll bet your company has spent more on new word processing software in the last five years than it would cost to upgrade Oracle? Which one is more important to your business?
