Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Installing 8i on Fedora Core (Red Hat Linux) --SO CLOSE!!
Greetings!
OBJECTIVE: Get *any* version/release of the Oracle database running on a PC running Fedora, the latest version of Red Hat Linux, also known as Yarrow.
Oracle support said that they do not support such a new version of Linux.
Made much progress by following this procedure: http://dbforums.com/arch/50/2003/12/838005 ...that includes the "glibc-2.1.3-stubs.tar" fix.
But when I try to run the Database Configuration Assistant or do anything else I get "ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist"
...there's no "lsnrctl" binary! Can't create/launch a database. Any suggestions?
/usr/bin/make -f ins_net_client.mk client_sharedlib
ORACLE_HOME=/data/oracle/ora817
