Given the charter of this newsgroup, I would think the rule would be
to assume access to metalink.  That certainly does not mean people
without access should be excluded from the group, and fair-use means
some amount of quoting and a lot of paraphrasing from metalink is
allowed.  Ronald has given an excellent example of how it should be
done.  I'll probably just continue to post links, because part of my
intent is often to get a newbie poster and "future lurkers" (including
myself :-) to take a look.  Obviously that doesn't apply to you, since
you are not a newbie, but we should all try to follow Ronald's example
if we post anything, um, suitable, from any paid board.
