We are still back to the unanswered question. What is "table spanning"?
I am guessing that it means creating a lot of tables with an identical structure and putting a bunch of rows from reports into one table and then when reaching some number of rows putting stuff into the second table, and on and on and on. Perhaps I am incorrect ... so far no noe has defined the term so we are all guessing.
But if I am correct ... then partitioning is a viable answer.
