I have read some articles about this, but I am a little confused about
the difference between "Oracle Transparent Gateway" and "Heterogeneous
services".
I want to create a database link so that the application (logging on
to Oracle) will not know whether the table is actually stored in
Oracle or in SQL Server.
Do I need Oracle Transparent Gateway to make this possible or could that be done only using "generic connectivity"? Do I need a separate license for OTG? The generic connectivty seems to be included with the Oracle software (Enterprise Edition)?
Thanks for help on this,
