Please go to http://www.dizwell.com and READ the Installing Oracle on Red Hat 9 document. It has excellent examples and walks you through all steps necessary to make it work.

Apparently the machine was rebooted since the installation. The installation configuration does not appear to have been made permanent and that appears to be part of the REALM issue.

A lot of information about networking and loopback is available at http://www.tldp.org (The Linux Documentation Project). You do NOT need an internet connection to make this work.
