So do I. And most recently when co-teaching a RAC class. It was, to be perfectly honest about it, absolutely obvious that the amount of QA performed on the installation routine was ZERO!
It all worked fine after configuration. But it was glaringly obvious that no one had ever actually installed the product before the CD was shipped.

Financial in that they aren't investing the time and money required to do it correctly. I think I know what is going wrong but I'm not in a position to know for sure. But I think lazyiness may be far more responsible than any malicious financial motive. What I saw this last weekend could have been cured for $500-1000 USD. So I'm far more inclined to think the motive was not financial.
