Hi,
Be sure that I studied the documentation for various versions thoroughly.
But please note the following. The most recent issue regarding this matter
is that a month ago we performed a test upgrade of 81740 >2TB dwh db to
92040 using v9 dbua on hpux. If the db were smaller than some 500GB, we
wouldn't have even considered the upgrade, it would certainly be performed
via exp/imp.
And we are not quite happy with the results; i wouldn't discuss the actual
issues, as they are still beeing considered in some open TARs.
Now we consider performing the test again, only this time using
export-import.. the same way we performed that when we moved the particular
db some two years ago from another OS to hpux.
It will probably take more than a week.
Anyway, with some careful planning, actual downtime should be less than a
day, because importing the static historical data can take place after the
import of essential schemas...
Regards...
Goran
