Whoa and slow down. I didn't blame anyone for anything. Didn't blame developes. Didn't blame DBAs. Didn't even blame fanatical terrorist cells. In fact I wasn't even responding to your posts.
I was just pointing out that much of the complaining from one person about not having an advantage from working with an unreleased product assumed that the person had taken advantage of learning all of the various aspects of the previous release. If said person hadn't really learned 9i what did they think they were going to do with 10g?
If may well be that person knows all of those things and far more. How would I know? But the point is that much of what was added with 9i still remains unexploited.
And given that it has nothing to do with third-party apps why aren't you using V_$DB_CACHE_ADVICE if you are on 9i?
