Pretty known issue - is even in the readme.html, iirc. Your host does not have a Fully Qualified Domain, and probably uses hostname name resolution.
The DNS/ping test was done from the outside, and doesn;t
prove a thing.
See what hostname returns - from the host itself. Bet it's
just the name, not the FQD.
Try to ping the result - again from the host itself - and
see what happens.
It may help to alter your hosts file.
