I think a certification program is the worst way to get back to Oracle unless part of your goal is to empty your bank account.

The quality of the education in most programs is negligible. Which doesn't mean that they don't meet their goal of teaching you to pass a test: In that many earn their money.

But rather the fact that most employers have figured out that OCP stands for the fact that the person can memorize information rather than that they can actually do the job.

Find a class targeted toward developing real skills as are given at many colleges and universities or from some training companies ... but you'll need to check out the training company to be sure they and their instructors are actually focused on skills rather than tests.

  1. Most of the OCP books on the market contain gross errors of fact
  2. Don't
  3. There are none.

Download a copy from oracle.com or purchase the Demo CD Pack from store.oracle.com and then get a few books. I'd suggest the ones authored by Tom Kyte, Jonathan Lewis, and Mike Ault worth looking at.
